A Waveguide Matched Load is a device used to optimise the efficiency of energy transfer between a waveguide transmission line and a load. Waveguide matched loads are based on the properties of absorbing materials. By designing suitable absorbing materials and structures, we maximise the absorption of electromagnetic wave energy incident on the load while reducing or avoiding reflections. The size and shape of the absorbing material is carefully designed to ensure that it provides good absorption in the operating frequency band.
